This is the Agenda for the "Our Role as Advocates" Workshop held on August 19, 2008.

The first workshop in our series of "Focus on Equity" Workshops was held on Tuesday 4th March 2008. Use the links in this report to access the presentations on the day. Anita Thomas provided a wonderful demonstration of all the influences on our health and well being, other that direct health (medical) factors. Helen Clough and Ben Pollard gave us a brief overview of the demographics in our local government areas of Banyule and Nillumbik and this information would available on their respective LGA websites. Mark Boyd then went on and demonstrated the unfair or avoidable differences in health outcomes experienced by members of our communities. Mark then distributed the draft Equity Tool and gave us a brief overview of the triangle which encourages to go beyond equity of access to consider ensuring equity of opportunity and measuring outcomes. The next Workshop will be held on Tuesday 8th April 9.30 - 11.30am
