About BNPCA

The Banyule Nillumbik Primary Care Alliance is a voluntary alliance of health and community agencies within the Banyule and Nillumbik areas. Click on the above map on the respective local government areas for links to the Strategic Partnership Group Member websites. In addition to these we have many other agencies participating in our activities and have a keen interest to diversify our partner agencies so new agencies are always welcome.

The Banyule Nillumbik Primary Care Alliance (BNPCA) has developed a strategic plan for 2006 – 2009 to address its vision of "partners in health working together to promote improved health and community services leading to better health outcomes for the communities of Banyule and Nillumbik".

The strategic plan is divided into the following four Portfolio areas:

  • Partnership - working towards having an evolving partnership with complimentary agencies committed to working together for the benefit of the community.
  • Integrated Health Promotion – working in partnership with key stakeholders to address the determinants of health and to impact positively on health and wellbeing outcomes for the community. The priority areas for action are physical activity and emotional wellbeing and social connectedness
  • Service Coordination – working to improve consumers’ health and wellbeing outcomes by ensuring their access to information and the services they require in a timely manner avoiding unnecessary barriers or duplication.
  • Integrated Chronic Disease Management – working together to achieve an integrated approach that will provide people with chronic disease a responsive person-centred and effective system of care.
